Have to start somewhere
So I don't live in a vacuum. I've known about weblogs for a while now, but have never had the motivation or concern to start writing one until now. Thursday, April 12, 2007. A date which I will certainly never remember. At any rate, this blog, if it's ever going to be read by anyone other than myself, has to have a theme. My theme will be cigars.
I guess I've tried a great many different brands, shapes, blends, sizes, and lengths since that first counterfeit Cuban I had in Tijuana shortly after turning 18. Boy did I ever think that was a steal at $8. That vendor's probably still laughing at my broken Spanish and half-hearted attempts to get him to come down. Truth was I didn't care. I couldn't wait to get my hands on it.
Cigars for me are not a panacea; but they are a fairly magical escape. People that know what I'm talking about are probably thinking about a specific time and place where they enjoyed a cigar right now. The sights and sounds of their friends laughing and the outrageous stories being told. I don't know what all I hope to accomplish with this meager blog right now, but I trust it will enhance my life in at least some small way in the days ahead. If you read this, please let me know - you'll probably be my first reader; ever.
